On April 7, Altai State Technical University hosted a meeting with the representatives of the Mongolian organization of peace and friendship.
The delegation was represented by: a composer, conductor, art critic, Sodnom Dashnyam, honored Artist of Mongolia, Dorj Otgonbayar, HR head of the Central Telegraph Agency of Mongolia and Ёndonzhamts Maxim, Secretary for Relations with Russia and the CIS member states, honored worker of Culture of the Republic of Buryatia.
As the result of the meeting, Altai State Technical University is now represented in Ulan Bator. The both parties agreed to participate in joint expos and sign an international agreement on quotas for training Mongolian students in AltSTU.
Currently, Altai State Technical University has 15 Mongolian students, and all of them are from the regions neighboring Altai Krai. Andrei Markov, AltSTU Vice-rector for strategic development and international cooperation is confident in recruiting Mongolian students from other regions to study at AltSTU, and promoting the university academic potential among Mongolian students, alumni and businessmen in Ulan Bator.
Furthermore, the Mongolian delegation invited AltSTU officials to participate in the Days of Russian-Mongolian friendship.
April 8, delegates met with the rector Alexander A. Sitnikov and awarded him Gold Star for Achievements in the field of cooperation between the two countries.
AltSTU cooperate with Mongolia in the field of science, education, and strengthening cultural ties for more than 20 years. Last year, the Mongolian students of AltSTU Institute of Architecture and Design won at the XXIII International contest for final qualification projects in architecture and design. The opening of the Center for Russian Language and Culture by AltSTU in Bayan-Ulgii aimag has marked a new era in cooperation between Mongolia and AltSTU.
