Industrial Technology Research Institute is offering up to 30 summer internships for international applicants in Taiwan. This program is open to graduate and undergraduate students currently enrolled at accredited colleges and universities. This is a paid internship programme. Eligibility: This program is open to graduate and undergraduate students currently enrolled at accredited colleges and universities. Accepted interns must be able to provide documentary evidence from the University of Student Status during the entire period of the internship.
Candidates must hold a valid passport from a country other than Taiwan (ROC).

-Free on-site accommodation on ITRI campus – modern dormitories on a spacious campus with dining and recreational facilities
-Monthly stipend (before taxes): NT$24,000 – NT$36,000 per month, depending on student’s experience and department’s situation; if you are offered a position, the offer will specify the stipend and other details.
-Free ITRI Group Insurance (Note: this is Accident Insurance – those who want full medical coverage must purchase it independently.)
-A tour of the Hsinchu Science-Based Industrial Park with company site visits, to promote understanding of Taiwan’s technology industry.
-Subsidized group trip to scenic destination in Taiwan.
Internship Description: The Industrial Technology Research Institute is a nonprofit R&D organization engaging in applied research and technical services originated from Taiwan. Founded in 1973, ITRI has played a vital role in transforming Taiwan’s economy from a labor-intensive industry to a high-tech industry. Numerous well-known, high-tech companies in Taiwan, such as leaders in the semiconductor industry TSMC and UMC can trace their origins to ITRI.
Number of awards offered: Each summer ITRI hosts about 30 international students for internships of 2−3 months. ITRI also offers a limited number of longer internships of 4−6 months during spring, summer and fall.
Internship Duration: Summer interns should be available to work for at least 10 weeks between May and September.
Longer internships of 4−6 months are possible throughout the year.
Dates are flexible depending on student and department needs and are decided case-by-case when acceptance offers are made.
Notification: The institutes hope to inform all decisions by the end of March. They will remove positions as they are filled, so if a position is posted that means application is still open.
