Admission Policy for Post-Graduate Students at AltSTU in 2014

Submission deadline for admission to post-graduate studies is September 20th. Pre-admission entrance tests in a course-related discipline, philosophy and foreign languages are scheduled in October. Applicants are not allowed to retake tests under any reasons. The test scores are valid for one calendar year. Those who have already taken the same exams as finals for Candidat of Science degree are waived to take entrance tests. The results of final exams for Master’s Degree in a chosen program of study, philosophy and a foreign language are equivalent to entrance tests for Candidat of Science degree.

The following list must be submitted to Admissions Office for Doctor of Science and Candidate of Science degrees:

  1. Application (Form)
  2. Personal information form
  3. Copy of qualifications for higher professional education and transcripts attached (if transcripts are issued abroad, a copy of credential equivalency by Federal Agency is required)
  4. List of research-related publications (in Russian). Publications, theses, research-related summary, R&D and R&D records. If no publications, research-related project in a chosen program of study is required.
  5. Record of entrance tests for post-graduate admission — for those who have partly or fully taken entrance tests
  6. Two 3×4 photographs
  7. Loose-leaf binder (carton)

Supervisor gives a review on a research-related project and a reference for an individual to apply for post-graduate programs; if course-related publications are referred and approved, a memo to relieve an applicant from such a project comes into effect.
