Test of Russian as a foreign language (TORFL)

Test of Russian as a foreign language (TORFL) is an international state examination to assess the Russian language proficiency level. The Russian language proficiency certificate is accepted by any university in the Russian Federation. Confirming your language proficiency level by the certificate you can be confident it will assure admission officers for your readiness to be enrolled in academic program.

AltSTU has been organizing and conducing state testing of foreign citizens in the Russian language as a foreign language within the agreement with People’s Friendship University of Russia (RUDN) for more than 20 years.

AltSTU Language Testing Center invites you to prove your Russian language proficiency by taking  an exam according to TORFL level and obtaining internationally recognized certificate.

First Certification Level (TORFL-I/B1)

Successful performance in TORFL-I/B1 confirms an intermediate level of proficiency, which enables a candidate to satisfy his main communicative needs in everyday, cultural, educational and professional areas in line with the State Standard of Competence in Russian as a Foreign Language. In addition, the First Level Certificate proofs its holder’s readiness to enroll in a Russian university.

The 2nd Level Certificate (TORFL-II /В2)

Successful performance in TORFL-II /В2 confirms high level of proficiency in Russian which enables a candidate to satisfy his communicative needs in a wide range of situations in cultural, educational and professional spheres. It allows a holder to receive Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D degrees in Russian universities, except certain subjects.

The 3rd Level Certificate (TORFL-III /C1)

Successful performance in TORFL-III /C1 confirms that the candidate has a high level of language command in all communicative contexts, which allows him to conduct professional activity in Russian in areas such as: Linguistics, Translation, Editing, Journalism, International Relations and Management.
